Kogi TUC Chairman hails Governor Ododo on supreme Court victory

Kogi TUC Chairman hails Governor Ododo on supreme Court victory

The Kogi State Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Sule, Ahmed Tijani has congratulated Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo on the Supreme Court victory affirming him as the duly elected Governor of the State.

In a congratulatory message issued to journalists on Friday, Comrade Ahmed Tijani described the judgment of the supreme Court as victory for democracy in Kogi State and Nigeria in general.

Comrade Ahmed Tijani disclosed that Ododo’s victory in the November 11th 2023 Governorship election was an affirmation of the mandate the good people of Kogi State entrusted on him, and which the governor has already shown that he has the capacity to defend.

He said: “The Supreme Court judgment affirming your election victory has put paid to all distractions thereby giving Your Excellency the opportunity to settle down to serve your people, a desire you have always expressed with sincere passion”

The Labour Leader appealed to the governor to look into all the requests put before him by Organized Labour on May day 2024 with a view to granting them and thereby making Kogi Workers happy again.

He also appealed to the Governor passionately, to join the league of Governors that have consented to paying the N70,000 National Minimum wage. This, according to him will ease the hardship currently being faced by workers in the state

” I am confident that this victory marks the beginning of new and fresh lease of life for the workers and citizens of Kogi State. I say this with confidence considering the welfare moves of Your Excellency within a very short period of assumption of office”

The Labour Leader listed Among the numerous achievements of the governor to include payment of 100% pension to pensioners of LGA, Improvement in the wages of Local Government workers and the payment of medical/Veterinary doctors allowance. He commended the governor for all these and appealed to him to do more.

The TUC Chairman called on the good people of Kogi State to support Governor Ododo and put behind religious, ethnic and political differences, in a bid to create the enabling environment for the governor to fulfil the mandate of his administration.

He equally felicitate with the Deputy Governor His Excellency, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo, Comrade Onuh Edoka SA Labour Matters and the State Executive Council.

Comrade Tijani finally assures His Excellency of the loyalty and cooperation of workers and pledging the support of TUC to his administration at all times.
