Kogi West APC: Okun Professionals And Progressives Forum Warns Self Acclaimed Kogi West APC Stakeholders To Desist From Denigrating Rt. Hon. James Faleke
Okun indigenes of Kogi West under the platform of Okun Professionals and Progressives Forum have warned that some self-acclaimed stakeholders of the ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) in Kogi West Senatorial District to desist from denigrating the person of the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

The group, in a statement signed and made available to newsman by its leader, Hon. Kazeem Abdulrauf, Coordinator, Hon. Olushola Olugbami and Secretary, Hon. Tunde Akanmidu warned that it will will no longer tolerate the actions of those casting aspersion on the person of HON. JAMES FALEKE, who has been a worthy son of Okun and the State, simply because he has identified with SENATOR SUNDAY STEVE KARIMI, the leading voice of the struggle for emancipation of Kogi West and Ambassador of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kogi State.
In a press release in issued in Abuja, on Wednesday 7th July 2026, the Okun Professionals Group said it witnessed with dismay the Press Conference in Lokoja, addressed by some self-acclaimed leaders of Kogi West APC, who kicked against the nomination of SENATOR KARIMI SUNDAY STEVE, as the Senatorial Candidate of the party in the forthcoming general elections and berated RT. HON. FALEKE for supporting Karimi warning that if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not call Rt. Hon. Faleke to order, the APC may lose the next elections.
That threat by these group is comlete falsehood. Faleke has never done anything to reduce the chances of APC in Kogi West. Rather, he is working with Senator Karimi in promoting the Party with their empowerment initiatives.
In a statement credited to the group, they enthused that:
‘’We members of Okun Professionals and Progressives Forum take strong exception to the contents of the Press Conference by some leaders of the APC in Lokoja, which was addressed by Hon Umar Ahmed Imam, in which the integrity of our revered and performing lawmaker, RT. HON. JAMES ABIODUN FALEKE was put under scrutiny.
We are particularly miffed by the threats made by Barr. Alfred Bello, calling on President Tinubu to call Rt. Hon. Faleke to order or risk losing the support of the zone in the 2027 Elections.
‘’We want to state unequivocally that the comments of Alfred Bello amounts to disrespect to the person of RT. HON. JAMES FALEKE, a ranking and respected member of the House of Representatives, whose leadership exploits have been acknowledged within and beyond the State. Faleke has impacted positively in Okun Land and in Kogi State generally in his years in the Parliament and must not be dragged into the mud by any Okun son or daughter.
Faleke remains a benefactor to the ingrate called Alfred Bello till date’’
Continuing, the group said ‘’For the records, RT. HON FALEKE has brought uncommon empowerment to the people of Okun nation.
Faleke has used his personal funds and influence to construct many roads, installed solar street lights and constructed palaces for our traditional rulers, surpassing even the performance of the sponsors of Alfred Bello, Alfa Imam who organized and paid for the paid Press Conference of 4th July 2026 and the Paid Protesters of 7th July 2026.
We therefore call on Alfred Bello and his group to leave out Rt. Hon James Faleke from their expedition to destruction. Rt. Hon Faleke has paid his dues and he is a worthy son of the Okun nation, who has proven time without number that he forever means well for Kogi people.
The Okun Professionals And Progressives Group hereby warn those whose stock in trade is to peddle falsehood to desist from defaming and bringing down RT. HON JAMES FALEKE henceforth.
We will not tolerate any further action that is capable of dragging his hard-earned reputation into question.
We also wish to reiterate our support for the candidature of Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi for the 2027 General Elections. Karimi is the candidate of the APC. Senator Karimi is an example of an excellent Legislator, who has consistently attracted developmental projects into Kogi West Senatorial District. He single-handedly Built and furnished an Army Forward Operation Base in Egbe, which now serves as a security buffer for the Senatorial District curtailing insecurity in the Zone. He has transformed the Senatorial Districts Education Sector, by building classrooms, laboratories, Computer Based Centers e.t.c to improve the life of constituents. He remains the architect of development of Kogi West Senatorial District, whose only crime is to dare call for rotation of Governorship to Kogi West Senatorial District.
He remains the most formidable candidate that can guarantee APC maximum votes in Kogi West.
We wish to state categorically that the mandate of Senator Karimi is the voice of the people. He assures APC of overwhelming votes in 2027 General Elections.
The groups led by Alfa Imam and Alfred Bello as well as the paid protesters who went to the APC National Secretariat which include Buhari Lokoja, Richard Otitoleke on 7th July 2026 are paid by their paymasters to derail the APC in Kogi State. They are only afraid that the voice of rotational governorship announced by Senator Karimi is becoming louder than Seat Tight Governorship that favors only one Senatorial District.
We advise those who are aggrieved with the decision of the National Leadership of the APC to uphold the mandate of Senator Karimi as the duly nominated candidate of the party for the 2027 General Elections to stop fanning the embers of crises in Okunland but to work with the party to bring more development APC in Kogi State.
