Large Turnout As Stakeholders Unveil ADC in Kogi West
KABBA, Kogi State — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally been unveiled by stakeholders in Kogi West Senatorial District, raising hopes for what party officials describe as “a new chapter of progress and inclusive development” for the people of the senatorial district in particular and Kogi State in general.
The unveiling ceremony, held in Kabba — the headquarters of the district — attracted a large turnout of party members and supporters from the seven local government areas making up the district.
Members of the party from the various township in Kabba-Bunu, Kogi/Koton Karfe, Mopa-Muro, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, and Lokoja areas attended the event.
Party leaders noted that Kogi West — particularly its rural communities — has long suffered neglect in education, healthcare, and security.
They maintained that the ADC offers a viable alternative for citizens seeking meaningful change.
The party said Kabba is part of the ADC’s broader national strategy to strengthen opposition presence in the 36 states making up the country.
Present at the event including Sen. Tunde Ogbeha, who is the vice chairman, North Central of the party, Sen. Dino Melaye, Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, State Chairman, Comrade Adaji John, State Secretary, Alh. Musa Ahmadu, former Kogi State SSG, Chief Kola Ologbodinya former PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Mrs Justina Abanida former Kogi State SSG, Olayinka Braimoh, former governor candidate under AA, Alh. Bologi Yabagi Lokoja LGA former Chairman, Dr. Idris former state lawmaker.
Others are Amb. Joe Elebiyo, former Ambassador to African Union, Chief Dayo Akande, Chief.Adegboyega Kolade, Bar. Omoyemi Gold Olumudi, Dr. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi, Hon. M.O Sule, Hon Sola Ojo, Hon. Adamu Quincy, house of Reps aspirant etc.
Addressing the crowd, Sen. Ogbeha described the event as “a new chapter for ADC in Kogi West in particular and Kogi State in general,” stressing that the party’s quest to rescue Nigeria must be achieve and driven by a collective desire.
Sen. Ogbeha reaffirm the expulsion of Hon. Leke Abejide from ADC, saying “he behaves like a motor park tout”. He said Leke will not fly the party’s ticket in 2027.
According to him, ADC is well prepared to clinch victory in 2027, urging members to work hard and intensify grassroots mobilisation.
“Our mission is to provide a platform where the voices of the people are heard and respected. We are committed to transparency, inclusion, and creating opportunities for every citizen in Kogi West,” he said.
He further called on stakeholders and community leaders to support the party’s efforts in building strong grassroots structures, stressing that “true development begins at the local level, and ADC will ensure that no community is left behind.”
He called on Nigerians to rally behind the ADC to chase out the APC in 2027 in order to restore order in the country.
In his remarks, Sen. Dino Melaye lamented the increasing hardship in the country, saying APC has made life difficult Nigerians. He said there is massive hunger and starvation in the land.
He caution Hon. Leke Abejide not to bring down Okun land, saying at the people are patiently waiting for him at home.
He said ADC is the only viable alternative to bring the needed charge and moral courage to reposition the country.
Dino accused the APC led administration of President Bola Tinubu leadership of failing in its core duty of securing Nigerians while many are being kidnap and kill on daily basis without any efforts by the government.
Musa Ahmadu urged the APC led government to purge itself of corruption, insisting that nation building would only be achieve when accountability and transparency becomes the order of the day.
He appealed to the people of Kogi West to actively participate in the incoming ADC membership registration in order to defeat APC and restore the country and put it back on track.
