The Leke Abejide Foundation, a pet project of Elder Leke Joseph Abejide, Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has said its target is to spend ₦5 billion on the execution of legacy projects across Yagba land.

The foundation disclosed this at the flag-off and commencement of the disbursement of N10 million to each community in Yagba Federal Constituency as part of its constituency empowerment initiative.
The event, described as one of the most impactful grassroots support programs in the history of the constituency, was held at Alu Community Secondary School Field in Alu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The landmark initiative, aimed at promoting community development, economic empowerment, and social welfare, officially began with the presentation of ₦10,000,000 to each of the communities of Alu, Igbagun, Oranre, Igbo Ero, and Odo Amu.
The Foundation explained further that the funds are intended to support community-based projects, improve local livelihoods, assist vulnerable residents, and stimulate economic activity at the grassroots level.

At the commencement of the empowerment program, Hon. Leke Abejide stated that the initiative was designed to bring meaningful development closer to the people and ensure that every community in Yagba Federal Constituency benefits directly from impactful leadership and people-oriented governance. He added that each project would be his legacy in these communities.

He emphasized that the success of the initiative depends largely on how judiciously the funds are utilized by the benefiting communities.
He also assured that communities making proper and transparent use of the resources stand to receive additional support in the future.
According to him, the empowerment program is not only a personal commitment to the welfare of the people but also part of his continued support for the administration and leadership ideals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He described President Tinubu as his political father, leader, and benefactor, noting that the initiative aligns with the broader vision of improving the lives of Nigerians through practical and community-focused interventions.
Hon. Abejide further encouraged beneficiaries and residents across the constituency to continue supporting the administration of President Tinubu, expressing optimism that the communities would reciprocate the gesture by delivering overwhelming support for the President’s re-election bid in the future.
He further said his motivation for embarking on the projects was his desire to mobilize support for the reelection of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Yagba Federal Constituency, stressing that any community that delivers fewer votes for President Bola Tinubu may not be included among the beneficiaries of the second phase.
He also hinted that he will host the biggest empowerment program to date, one that he said would shake Kogi State and Nigeria between November and December this year.
He pointed out that the event would be a watershed moment, meant to show people that loyalty and patience pay off.
He said the program would give him the opportunity to appreciate his die-hard followers who have stood with him since the beginning of his political career, stressing that he needs no body to give him names that he already know the beneficiaries
Residents and community leaders who witnessed the flag-off ceremony commended the Foundation for the unprecedented gesture, describing it as a major milestone in grassroots empowerment and rural development within Yagba Federal Constituency.
Chief Charles Olorunsola, Eshanuaje of Mopamuro Local Government; HRH Oba Samuel Adebola of Igbagun; and the monarchs of Alu, Oranre, Igbo-Ero, and Odo-Amu, along with other community beneficiaries, were full of praise for the lawmaker.
They pointed out that his kind gesture and act of benevolence toward the people of Yagba land is the first of its kind in the country.
They promised to continue giving him their maximum cooperation and support to deliver maximum votes for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu.
The ₦710 million initiative is expected to have far-reaching impacts in critical areas such as education, healthcare, small-scale businesses, youth engagement, and community infrastructure, thereby creating lasting opportunities and improving the standard of living of the people.
Observers have described the initiative as a strong demonstration of compassionate leadership, visionary representation, and genuine commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that the Leke Abejide Foundation has once again distinguished itself as a platform dedicated to service, development, and community advancement.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of Zenith Bank cheques for ten million naira to the development associations of the five communities: Igbagun, Alu, Oranre, Odo-Amu, and Igbo-Ero.
