Meet Jos Jarawa PDP Councillorship candidate, Who’s a Professional Artisan.
Hon. Stephen Izang Atsi,is a renown personality and a Household name in Jos Jarawa Federal ward,Jos North Local Government Area.
In a chat with our reporter in Jos,he spoke on numerous issues ranging from economy, education and skills.
My name is Hon. Stephen Izang Atsi,I’m the C.E.O of Izang Atsi and Sons.
currently ,the PDP candidate for Jos Jarawa ward.
How I emerged as the flag bearer was base on my vast knowledge and experience in Politics,I have served our Amiable party, that’s the PDP for the past 24 years without defecting to any party, that’s since 1999, I served as the PDP Financial Secretary at the ward level,afterward, Chairman of the Party at the Lamingo state ward twice. Then later served as the welfare officer at the local Government.
I became the Acting Chairman at the Jos Jarawa Federal ward when the then Chairman defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for 6 Months,I was later elected secretary for four years and was elected as the substantive Chairman..
These are the various positions I have held in
PDP and I served diligently and without any regret till date that I’m flying the flag of the party as the Councillorship candidate.
I have being an artisan for several years.
According to him,I went to Technical College and I studied welding and fabrications and after my graduation,I established a workshop known as Izang Atsi and Sons, where I have graduated more than 20 Youths and they have equally trained other Youths in turn.
I have also served my Community in various ways, particularly at the Youths wing,that is Afizere Youth Movement (AYM),in 1992 to 1994,I became the Auditor of Afizere Youth Movement (AYM), at Jos Jarawa Village then and two times ex officio of the Association in Jos Jarawa District,later I became the financial secretary at the Jos North Branch, During Hon. Danjuma Azi’s administration.
I was also the Treasurer in acting capacity when we loss our Treasurer.
We were also overseeing the National level of the AYM then during the administration of Engineer Yakubu Ashom.
At the end of our tenure,I came back at the district level and served as AYM Chairman again.
I was the President of the National Association of Afizere Students (NAAS) Plateau state Polytechnic’s Chapter from 2020-2022 during my HND program, I was also a senator at the National Association of Plateau state Students (NAPSS).
Asked for his plans for his people if elected as a Councillor.
The Candidate said the job of a Councillor is representation and I pledge to represent my people with all sense of diligence and sincerity.
I will make laws that will have direct impacts and attract developments.
I will give Education a top most priority because,without a quality and functional education,no society will grow and progress.
Other areas are the health sector and Agriculture,we will consider farm inputs for both raining and farming seasons.
We will ensure unity among our people.
He thank the President for ensuring there’s financial autonomy of Local Governments.
With the Autonomy,there will a lot of projects to be executed.
