Meet The Youngest TIC Chairman in Plateau state.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Jos East Local government,Hon. Inyam Husseini said his administration will centered on Welfare and security of his people.

The Chairman sated this in an exclusive Interview with Democratic Newsline in Jos.

My Name is Hon. Markus Husseini Nyam,I’m the Transition Committee Chairman of Jos East Local government. I was born in a Village called Ridem,Shere East of Jos East LGA and I started my Primary School at Zakim Primary School from 1983 to 1989 thereafter I went to government secondary school Federe, also attended Plateau state Polytechnic, later I joined Education sector where I studied English and Hausa Languages.

I started my Political Career as a unit agent of a one time Presidential Candidate of NRC, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, later I contested for ward Chairman of APP then and I won.

Later I became a publicity secretary of Jos East. I decamped to PDP in 2005 the then Ruling party ,I was then elected EX-Officio at the local government level who also doubled as Senior Special Assistant to the Advisory Committee Chairman on political matters, then elected as the party secretary from 2008 to 2012,later on I relaxed and I was unanimously elected by the Elders of Jos East as their secretary as young as I’m at the age of 45 and thereafter elected as Deputy Chairman of Jos East Local government in 2014 to 2015 after that,I contested for PDP Local government Chairmanship,I won but was challenged in court an order was granted for another election to be conducted but I didn’t contest again for the spirit of brotherhood contest again and I supported the current Chairman,Mr. Ishaya Izang.

I was nominated to be an EX-Officio of PDP in Northern Zone as I was serving that position,I was appointed the coordinator of Barrister Caleb Mutfwang in Jos East LGA during Primary Election , because of the performance I guess,I was still nominated to be the 5 over 5 PDP Campaign coordinator in 2023,I was coordinating the state Assembly,Member Jos East/ Jos South Constituency,Plateau Northern Senatorial District,Governorship. I was the one coordinating them in Jos East ,having done that,I was able to deliver 3 out of the 5 of the positions in Jos East now the Governor in his wisdom appointed me to be the transition Chairman of Jos East Local government.

On the area of Security. The Chairman said when my name was announced as the transition Committee Chairman of Jos East Local Government,I felt happy at that moment I was and knowing the Challenges that are there.

I was the deputy Chairman under the leadership of a wonderful man and a man of Charisma that is retired Bridgedier General Samuel Abok Atu,he was carrying me along and local government administration that deals with people locally and grassroots the sole responsibility of every leader is to protect the lives and property of every citizen and their welfare .

Our Country and state as well as Jos East Local government but we want to thank God that Jos east is relatively mild though we are facing with kidnapping especially at the local government headquarters and we have been able to notice with the efforts of the securities particularly the police, hunters, vigilante and other securities.

We have been holding security meetings to see how we can tackle it and we have set out modalities and we cannot reveal them and we want people to come and invest in out locality and operate peacefully.

Went we came in, we prioritized the welfare of our people. Electricity from Rinji to Angware was faulty and have since restored the power supply which is serving three Districts of Shere,Maigemu and Federe. The People have been using the advantage to commit crimes.

Four departments were owing salaries and out of the little resources we got,we have settled 3 departments because staff welfare is our priority because people cannot work and their entitlements will not be paid. When we receive the next subvention, out of our prudent management,we will pay the fourth Department.

There is also a complain from Federe District about the collapse bridge and we have visited the Commissioner of works and said they will do the needful.

The Bridge is the major link from the local government secretariat to the state Capital.

We will embark on development that will have direct impact on the lives of our citizens though we have not lay our hands on the 2023 budget, once we see it if we will consolidate,we will do that but if there are projects that does not have direct bearing on the live of our citizens,we will suspend them.

I want to call on the people of Jos East Local government to unite because we can’t achieve any development without unity and peace.
