Tribunal Victory: Senator Karimi Commends the Judiciary, appreciate Constituents
The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District and Senate Committee Chairman on Senate Services, Senator Sunday Karimi has commended the judiciary for the meticulous way it handled the election petition challenging his victory of the February 25 national assembly election in Kogi West, stressing that they have further proved to be the last hope of the common man.
He disclosed this while reacting to the judgment of the election Tribunal seating in Lokoja that ruled in his favour early today, stressing that the pronouncement will further encourage him to work hard in providing qualitative representation for the people of the district in the next four years at the national level.
“I am most grateful to God the maker of heaven and earth, including kings. I want to also appreciate the good people of Kogi West, to whom this victory belongs”.
He said their choice of voting for him at the ballot has further been affirmed by the Election Tribunal which examined the Petition before it and dismissed it in its entirety as lacking in merit and completely baseless, and finding that majority of the lawful votes were cast for him and his party APC in the said election.
He noted that the judiciary has once again stood for the truth and defended Nigeria’s democracy and entrenched the rule of law through her judgment affirming him as the duly elected member of the Senate and dismissing the Petitioner’s case on all grounds.
According to him, he has sworn an oath and given his words to represent the district excellently well, by ensuring that their voices are heard loud and clear, while he will ensure dividends of democracy will be made available to the grassroots even to the remotest areas.
“I hereby admonish the good people of the Senatorial District to be patient with me as I deliver on my campaign promises of equal opportunity, good governance representation. Needless to say that the cost and distractions of the frivolous tribunal case has slowed down my delivery of the dividend of democracy to the people. Regardless, I am undeterred in my determination to improve the life of our people”
“Congratulations to us all, as this victory belongs to the majority of the people of Kogi Western Senatorial District”
