Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Honored with Humanitarian Award

Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, the Honourable Minister of Steel Development, received a prestigious Humanitarian Award on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his office in Abuja.

The award was presented by Mr. Philip Edward Leo Africa Bonn, Chairman of the Emiretus, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation, who also serves as a UN Special Envoy.

The award recognizes Minister Audu’s commitment to humanitarian causes and his dedication to public service. As the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Audu has been instrumental in shaping Nigeria’s steel industry since his appointment on August 21, 2023. His leadership experience in corporate and investment banking, as well as his role as CEO of Stanbic IBTC Group’s Venture Capital Business, has been invaluable to his ministerial work.

Prince Audu is a seasoned politician and investment banker with over 20 years of experience in the financial sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Leicester and an MBA from the University of Oxford’s St. Hugh’s College. As a member of the All Progressives Congress, Prince Audu has been a strong advocate for development and progress in Kogi State, where his late father, Abubakar Audu, served as governor ¹ ².
