Mobilizing Ijumu for Renewed Hope: We Cannot Afford to Fail ….Dr Funsho Olumoko

Ijumu people, this is our moment. The Renewed Hope agenda is not just a slogan from Abuja. It is a call to action, a covenant between the government and the people, and a pathway to restore dignity, opportunity, and prosperity at the grassroots. And we in Ijumu cannot afford to fail this government, because to fail the government is to fail ourselves, our children, and our future.

Why Renewed Hope Matters to Ijumu
For too long, our communities have waited for development to reach us. Potable water, good roads, accessible healthcare, quality education, youth employment — these are not luxuries. They are rights. The Renewed Hope project brings these priorities back to the center. It is about food security for our farmers, grants for our traders, skills for our youths, and care for our elders. It is about making sure that the resources of this nation trickle down to Ijumu Local Government, not just to the cities.

Our Responsibility as a People
Hope is not delivered by government alone. It is built by the people who receive it, protect it, and multiply it. If we sit back, watch, and complain, the opportunity will pass us by. But if we mobilize, organize, and participate, we will attract the attention, resources, and projects that our land deserves. This is not about politics. This is about survival, growth, and legacy. We must rise above division and petty interests. Ijumu must speak with one voice: we are ready, we are united, we are committed.

The Role of Ward Ambassadors
To deepen this mobilization, Dr. Funsho Olumoko, Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Ijumu, has announced that Ward Ambassadors will soon be appointed across all wards. This is a strategic step. Ward Ambassadors will be the eyes, ears, and voice of the people at the ward level. They will carry information from the government to the people and feedback from the people to the government. They will identify real needs, monitor projects, and ensure that no community is left behind. This structure will bring governance closer to you — to your compound, your street, your village.

We Cannot Afford to Fail
History will judge us by what we do with this opportunity. If other local governments key into Renewed Hope and Ijumu lags behind, we will have no one to blame but ourselves. The President has shown commitment. The state has shown alignment. Now it is our turn to show ownership. Let every chief, every youth leader, every women’s group, every religious leader, and every household become an ambassador of hope.

Conclusion: The Time is Now
Let us bury our differences and embrace our common goal — a better Ijumu. Let us support Dr. Funsho Olumoko and the Renewed Hope team as they lay the groundwork. Let us prepare to receive and work with the Ward Ambassadors when they are appointed.

Ijumu has always been known for resilience and hard work. Now is the time to add unity and foresight. We cannot afford to fail the government. We must succeed for ourselves.

Ijumu for Renewed Hope. Renewed Hope for Ijumu.
