FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATIONAL APC YOUTH COALITION (NAYC) HAILS HON. LEKE ABEJIDE’S RESIGNATION FROM ADC, WELCOMES HIM TO APC

Abuja, 2nd May 2026

The National APC Youth Coalition (NAYC) salutes the courageous and timely decision of Hon. Leke Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, to resign from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after months of leadership crisis and internal instability within the party.

NAYC views Hon. Abejide’s exit as a demonstration of principle and a commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His record of people-oriented representation and developmental politics in Kogi West aligns with the values and direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

While Hon. Abejide has stated he is watching his next political move, NAYC welcomes him into the APC family and urges him to formalize his membership without delay. The ruling party needs credible, tested, and grassroots-oriented leaders like him ahead of the 2027 general elections.

We call on APC stakeholders at national and state levels to embrace Hon. Abejide and leverage his popularity and influence to strengthen the party’s standing in Kogi State and beyond.

NAYC remains committed to youth inclusion, party growth, and national progress under the leadership of President Tinubu.

*Signed:*

Aiyelabowo Adebanji Austin
Director General, National APC Youth Coalition (NAYC)

Charles Osagie
National Coordinator, National APC Youth Coalition (NAYC)
