The Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, has declared that the agency will not compromise in enforcing rules and regulations to ensure the safety of Nigeria’s skies for all flyers.
He made this declaration while hosting the management team of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, led by its publisher, Chief Olugbemi Femi, who presented him with a plaque of honor in Public Service Leadership.
Captain Najomo expressed his pleasure in receiving the award, attributing the recognition to the teamwork and efforts of the entire management and staff of the eleven directorates that make up the regulatory agency.
He emphasized the importance of strict adherence to international standards, noting that Nigerian air passengers often struggle to conform to rules and regulations.
The NCAA boss highlighted the agency’s commitment to training and retraining staff, captains, pilots, and cabin crew to enhance their knowledge and skills in carrying out their duties diligently.
He reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to implementing rules and regulations in line with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda to make Nigeria’s skies safe for all users.
Chief Olugbemi Femi, publisher of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, stated that the management team was at the NCAA headquarters to present the prestigious award of recognition to Captain Najomo, having deemed him worthy of the honor.
The award was initially scheduled to be presented during the 15th Annual Public Lecture and Awards Ceremony with the theme Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria, held on the 26 August, 2025 but was delayed due to the DG’s national assignment abroad.
