According to the speakers in the various groups, the endorsements of Senator Dickson for re-election in the forthcoming general elections became imperative due to his sound contributions in the national assembly towards the peace, growth and development of the Niger Delta, Ijaw Nation and the Nation at large.

In separate events, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairmen of Sagbama and Ekeremor Local Government Areas, passed votes of confidence in Senator Dickson for his eloquent, unintimidated representation in the Senate, addressing constitutional issues of national interest to foster peace, unity and development.

The CDC Chairmen in furtherance endorsed the former governor for re-election in the Senate, and formally formed a grassroot-based organization called “the Ofuruma-Pepe Community Leaders Forum” to specifically mobilize grassroot support for the federal lawmaker in the 2027 elections.

The community leaders while commending Senator Dickson for his consistent advocacy on issues affecting the Niger Delta and Ijaw Nation on the basis of equity, justice and fairness, described him as “the voice of the Niger Delta and Ijaw Nation,” adding that he should not be distracted by sponsored mischievous claims of zoning.

In the same vein, the Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Forum, Bayelsa West Chapter of Phase 1, 2 & 3, has officially endorsed Dickson to be re-elected in the 2027 general elections as Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial district.

“Our unanimous choice of Senator Dickson to be re-elected in the 2027 general elections, is for the best interest of the Niger Delta and the Ijaw Nation for sound representation.

In a statement signed by Generals Aso Tambo Kpala, Jeremiah Timothy VIP, Alhaji Letugbene, Stephen Okiemo, Dengo Benin, Gowon Abenzi, Ebide Brown, and Julius Belemu, the ex-agitators commended the nationalist for his relentless, fearless and courageous leadership both in Bayelsa west and nationally.

The ex-agitators forum eulogized Senator Dickson for standing firm on constitutional issues of democracy and governance, citing his strong condemnation of the emergency rule in Rivers State, including his defense of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan during her controversial suspension from the Senate.

The statement read in parts: “Ladies and gentleman, there is no iota of doubt that Senator Henry Seriake Dickson remains the best choice for us as a people who truly desire quality, and assertive leadership cum representation in the Senate.

“We say this with all form of boldness because, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson has performed creditably. He has been able to attract the much needed attention to our plight in Bayelsa West and the Ijaw Nation, as well as the Niger Delta region.

“The Ijaw Nation is blessed to have him as its representative, especially now that our erstwhile Ijaw National Leader, Pa Edwin Clark is no more, Ofuruma-Pepe has stepped into the big shoes of Pa Clark, and we, the Niger Delta Ex-agitators Forum from Bayelsa West are solidly behind him.

“You will recall the various irregularities that have taken place, both in the national assembly, and in our nation at large. In our sister state of Rivers, the democratically elected Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara was unconstitutionally removed from office, and a Sole Administrator was appointed.

“This was a daylight robbery which our Senator, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson, as a fearless Ijaw leader, condemned and fought against the undemocratic and unconstitutional act in its entirety.

“You will also recall the Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan debacle with the Senate President which led to her unconstitutional controversial suspension.

“As a true democrat, Senator Dickson kicked against it as well, which has shown that he is fluently, gallantly and unintimidatingly capable of speaking truth to power whenever the need arises.

“All these and many more has made Ofuruma-Pepe even more acceptable by Nigerians in general, especially the people of Bayelsa West and the Ijaw Nation in particular.

“These are few out of the numerous reasons why Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is the right choice for our people in Bayelsa West.

“We have closely observed the various smear campaigns, and attempts to cause confusion and division in Bayelsa West by some selfish politicians from within and outside Bayelsa West, who are allegedly sponsored by some key APC leaders in Abuja.

“We want to send a clear message to them that their fight against Senator Dickson is a fight they can’t win. It is a fight against the entire Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta, and against the Nigerian population who admire Ofuruma-Pepe for his courage and fearlessness in speaking truth to power, even at his own risk.

“At this juncture, we want to call on our people, especially the elders, youths, women and all stakeholders in Sagbama and Ekeremor local government areas which makes up Bayelsa West Senatorial District to shun all divisive propaganda against Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.

“Our call to them is that, they should support the choice of the Niger Delta and Ijaw Nation, which is Senator Henry Seriake Dickson come 2027.

“The Ijaw Nation has united behind Senator Dickson for 2027, and as such, let’s support him to ensure he is re-elected to continue the solid foundation of sound representation to the people of Bayelsa West, Ijaw Nation, Niger Delta and Nigeria as a federal lawmaker.
