NIWA BOSS COMMENDED FOR ACHIEVING GREAT FEAT
The managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji has been commended for his monumental achievement recorded in a very short time in the maritime sector.
The chairman kogi state Rowing, Canoe and sailing federation, Chief (Hon) Aiyelabowo Adebanji Austin expressed this in lokoja recently while speaking to news men in his office.
Hon. Aiyelabowo was full of praises for the NIWA boss who in a very short period of time has already made a significant mark.
The chairman also louded Oyebamiji’s proactive measures, which includes the implementation of education grants, promotion letters and medical packages for staff, to boost morale and productivity.
The kogi state born chairman further commended NIWA under Oyebamiji’s watch for their efforts in bringing the vital code to fruition as well as the purchase of 15 boats of varying capacities and purposes comprising three surveillance boats, fire safety enforcement boats, a gun patrol boat, a 62-seater passenger boat as a pilot scheme to replace traditional wooden canoes, three water ambulances, and two hydrographic survey boats equipped with multi-beam echo Sounders.
Chief Aiyelabowo also prayed to God for guidance and divine support for the NIWA boss to do more, especially in the area of youth development and humanitarian services.
