In a significant gathering held in Kano, leaders of the North-West zone of the BAT Movement convened under the leadership of Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu, to deliberate on the progress, challenges, and future direction of the movement within the region.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders and coordinators who expressed a renewed sense of unity and dedication to the ideals of the movement, which centers on supporting the leadership and policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During the session, the group commended President Tinubu for ongoing infrastructural developments, particularly the Abuja–Kano road project, which they described as a critical step toward enhancing economic activity and connectivity in the North-West. Members also acknowledged broader efforts to improve public services and living standards across the region.
Despite these achievements, the movement expressed concern over what it described as a lack of sufficient advocacy and communication from some political stakeholders in promoting government policies at the grassroots level. The group emphasized the importance of consistent engagement with citizens to ensure awareness and understanding of ongoing reforms.
Hon. Dawakin Kudu urged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt a careful and consultative approach in party decision-making processes, particularly in the selection of candidates.
According to him, unity within the party remains essential to sustaining political stability and continuity.
The meeting also recognized the efforts of the National Leader of the BAT Movement, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, for his role in strengthening the movement nationwide.
Participants called on him to expedite the organization of a national meeting involving coordinators from all 36 states of the federation, aimed at enhancing coordination and effectiveness.
Leaders at the meeting highlighted logistical and operational challenges, particularly the lack of adequate resources to support outreach activities in the North-West. They noted that these constraints have slowed down efforts to effectively communicate the movement’s message and activities across communities.
In response, the movement announced plans to launch an extensive grassroots engagement initiative described as a “door-to-door” outreach campaign. This effort is expected to operate across multiple administrative levels—from wards and constituencies to local government areas and states—with the goal of strengthening community interaction and participation.
A key highlight of the meeting was the appointment of Sadiq Muhammad Isah as Head of the Media Team for the North-West zone. His role will focus on improving information dissemination, enhancing public awareness, and promoting the activities of the movement through structured communication channels.
The BAT Movement reiterated its commitment to unity, organizational growth, and constructive engagement at all levels. Leaders concluded the meeting with a shared resolve to strengthen internal collaboration while contributing positively to national development.
