The Kogi Open Government Partnership (OGP), has Commended the transparent and accountable Leadership Style of the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, particularly the Approval of Kogi State OGP State Action Plan (SAP).

The Co- Chair of Kogi State OGP Co-creation Platform, Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, noted that
Ododo’s, exemplary leadership and commitment to transparency and accountability in governance, has worn him the administration of members of both OGP and civil society groups in the state.

Speaking further he said “The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a multilateral and multinational initiative that seeks to create collaboration between government and civil society. The OGP is a broad partnership that includes members at the national and local level and thousands of civil society organizations working together to create and implement reforms aimed at improving public service delivery and governance in general.

“The members of the Kogi State Open Government Partnership (OGP) Co-creation Platform, alongside the dedicated civil society community of Kogi State, extend heartfelt commendations to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his exemplary leadership and commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.

According to him, during the State Executive Council meeting held on November 20th, 2024, Governor Ododo approved the Kogi State Open Government Partnership State Action Plan (SAP) for the period of 2024-2026, noting that this momentous decision not only reflects his unwavering dedication to the principles of open governance but also signifies a significant step forward in fostering civic engagement and empowering citizens.

Ambassador Idris added that the approved SAP outlines a comprehensive framework for enhancing transparency, encouraging public participation, and promoting accountability within government operations.

He said this will ensure that these costed activities are incorporated into the 2025 approved State annual budget, saying Governor Ododo has demonstrated a forward-thinking approach that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of the people of Kogi State.

“On behalf of the OGP Co-creation Platform, co-chaired by myself, Amb. Idris Ozovehe Muraina (Executive Director RECEF and Chairperson Kogi NGOs Network (KONGONET), and Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris (FCA), Commissioner of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, we reaffirm our commitment to the diligent implementation of the SAP.

“We are confident that, under your Excellency’s guidance and with the cooperation of all relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), we will achieve the goals outlined in this crucial plan.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to your leadership style—one that is inclusive, responsive, and dedicated to the welfare of the citizens. It is a proud moment for all Kogites, and we look forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on our communities.

“Congratulations, your Excellency, on this groundbreaking accomplishment. Together, we will continue to build a Kogi State that is transparent, participatory, and accountable to its people.
