Okun League’s DG, Hon Bello, Urges Awoniyi to Take Over Okun Political Leadership
The Director General of Okun League of Progressive Elites, Barrister Alfred Bello, has called on the former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Arc Abayomi Awoniyi, to take up the leadership responsibility for Okun land’s political landscape, stressing the need to fill the leadership vacuum.
He disclosed this while the group visited him at his residence in Lagos, pointing out that it’s become obvious that if the leadership vacuum isn’t quickly filled, Okun will be at a great disadvantage.
Responding, the former Deputy Governor, Awoniyi, commended the group’s leadership for taking the initiative to chart a new way forward, stressing that political leadership in Okun land has become inevitable at this critical moment of political transformation in Kogi State.
He used the opportunity to call for unity and peace among Okun people.
He said Okun’s support for the continuity of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo is already a done deal, but called for patience, tolerance, and dialogue within the political space.
