Okun Media Professionals Call on Governor Ododo to Sustain Onslaught Against Banditry in Kogi State

The Forum of Okun Media Professionals has commended Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State for his relentless onslaught against bandits in the state. The group praised the Governor’s decisive action, saying it has brought relief to the people of the state.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chief Olugbemi Femi, and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the forum urged Governor Ododo to sustain the momentum, emphasizing the need for continued efforts to ensure the state remains safe and secure. The group acknowledged the Governor’s commitment to leveraging education and security measures to defeat banditry and terrorism.

The commendation follows a recent successful security operation in Obajana, where the Governor’s directive led to the repulsion of bandits.

The forum pointed out that similar operations should be carried out in Kiri, Olle-Bunu, between Kabba and Ayere, and in affected areas in Yagba West, East, and other parts of the state where bandits operate frequently.

The forum also used the opportunity to call for stepped-up actions to secure the release of those kidnapped in Aiyetoro-Kiri, Olle, in Kabba/Bunu, and the Cherubim and Seraphim church in Yagba East, stressing that it is time to eliminate anyone involved in acts of terrorism in the state.

The forum’s support for the Governor’s security efforts underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in maintaining peace and stability in Kogi State.

The Governor has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property, emphasizing education as a key strategy in the fight against insecurity. The forum’s endorsement is expected to boost the Governor’s efforts in addressing security challenges in the state.
