Okun Second Summit: Unity Key to Okunland’s Development – Professor Ikupolati

An Okun born erudite scholar, Professor Mike Ikupolati has emphasized the importance of unity among the Okun people, calling for a collective approach to address the region’s development challenges.
He disclosed this yesterday at the second Okun Nation’s Summit with the theme: Okun Unity: Power of One Voice, The Strength of Many Hands organized by Okun Development Initiative (ODI) held at Olonijola Event Center, Kabba while addressing journalists on the paper he presented title, role of leaders in fostering unity in Okunland
According to him there is a need for the Okun people to prioritize their collective identity over individual affiliations and pursuit, stressing that sense of direction is crucial for the region’s progress, and a strong leader can guide the people towards a common goal.
He also emphasized that unity and collective action are essential to overcome challenges and achieve development, pointed out that collective action are the only solutions to Okunland’s development challenges, political oppression, hunger, and deprivation.
He further stressed that it is time for the people of Okunland to come together to champion good governance and demand their rights from the appropriate quarters.
He noted that there is need to have leaders at various levels to coordinate for effective leadership that can direct the force of opinion and guide the people towards a common goal, added that the people of Okunland need to take collective responsibility for their development and work together to achieve progress.
