Olubunu of Bunu Land, Oba Adebayo Ikusemoro Clocks 100 Years and 64 Years on the Throne Ex-Kogi Speaker Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole Hails Monarch’s Legacy

In a momentous celebration that unites the people of Bunu Land and beyond, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebayo Ikusemoro, the Olubunu of Bunu, has marked 100 years of age and 64 remarkable years on the throne, making him one of the longest-reigning traditional rulers in Nigeria’s history.
Joining dignitaries and well-wishers in celebrating this historic milestone, Rt. Hon. Matthew Olusola Kolawole, former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, described the monarch as:
> “A living institution and a reservoir of wisdom whose reign has brought peace, unity, and developmental transformation to Bunu Land. His centenary is not just a personal milestone it is a celebration of tradition, legacy, and leadership that inspires all generations.”
The Olubunu’s 64-year reign has been defined by unwavering commitment to cultural heritage, peaceful coexistence among communities, and active engagement in the socio-political development of Kabba/Bunu Local Government and Kogi State at large.
Ascending the throne over six decades ago, His Royal Majesty assumed leadership at a pivotal time in Nigeria’s traditional and political landscape. Through visionary leadership and enduring grace, he has served as a beacon of continuity in a rapidly changing society.
