Plateau State University’s Entrepreneurship Department Welcomes New Students with a Call to Innovation and Integrity

Head of Department Entrepreneurship at Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, Dr Maklu Naanteer Yonlu has challenged fresh incoming students of the department to embrace Innovation and integrity, urging them to embrace a mindset of continuous learning, diligence, and unwavering integrity.
Dr. Maklu Nanteer , the Head of Department,in his address emphasised the unique privilege of studying entrepreneurship in a world grappling with unemployment. “You are now part of a vibrant academic community where ideas are born, innovation is nurtured, and leaders are made,” Dr. Yonla stated, highlighting that true entrepreneurs are “lifelong learners, curious minds, and solution-driven individuals with positivity.”
Dr. Yonla underscored three core values for the new students,
Search for Knowledge, Encouraging them to be curious, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
Diligence,Stressing that hard work and persistence are key to overcoming obstacles.
Integrity, Defining it as doing the right thing, even when unobserved, and letting one’s word be their bond.
Dr Maklu gave a sterned warning against examination malpractice, which he termed an “unforgivable sin” that damages credibility and compromises one’s future. “Don’t trade your destiny for a few minutes of dishonesty.
The HOD concluded by reiterating that, the department’s mission, is where they transform the mindset, for quality education and unlock skills that will equip them for self-reliance.
The orientation ceremony culminated with the presentation of Award of excellence to the pioneer Head of Department, recognizing their foundational contributions alongside, the dedicated Examination Officer, Wapshak Manji Kumdi, and the Departmental Adviser,Auta Habila Dogo.
