The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three police officers and the injury of two others following an ambush by suspected armed bandits in Bakori Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday in Katsina, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Aliyu Abubakar, said the attack occurred on Tuesday at about 12:44 p.m. during a routine anti-crime patrol along the Guga–Bakori axis.
According to him, the patrol team was ambushed by armed hoodlums who opened fire sporadically. He said the officers responded gallantly and succeeded in repelling the attackers.
