Presidency Denies Sack, forceful resignation of NNPC GCEO, Bayo Ojulari
The Presidency has denied reports that President Bola Tinubu has sacked or directed the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, to resign.
An online newspaper report alleged that Ojulari was detained on Friday and coerced into signing a resignation letter by the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, and the DSS Director-General, Adeola Ajayi.
However, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, dismissed the report as false and unfounded in a message to The Witness.
Ojulari was appointed as the NNPC GCEO in April 2025.
Meanwhile, Ojulari was reportedly dismissed over “monumental corruption,” abuse of office, and mismanagement.
