CDS Musa Visits Plateau, Reassures Enhanced Strategies to End Violence
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has pledged to reassess and enhance military strategies to tackle insecurity in Plateau State and other areas under Operation SAFE HAVEN.

During an operational visit to the Headquarters of Operation SAFE HAVEN in Jos, Plateau State, on August 1, 2025, General Musa emphasized the need for adapting military tactics to address the asymmetric nature of the conflict.
General Musa stressed the importance of taking decisive actions to halt the cycle of violence affecting the Plateau and neighboring states.

He warned that commanders would be held accountable for any acts of negligence and pledged to increase logistical support to improve operational efficiency.
The CDS appealed to local leaders to encourage their youth to identify and isolate criminal elements within and across communities to prevent widespread unrest and maintain peace.
Major General Eyitayo Folusho Oyinlola, Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, briefed the CDS on the operation’s achievements and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable communities.

General Musa inspected the Nigerian Army Medical Centre at Tigi and Sector 6 in Jebbu Bindi, pledging support for the facility to provide quality medical care to frontline troops and the host community.
He also urged troops to remain vigilant and dedicated, emphasizing the importance of building trust and cooperation with local populations for lasting peace.
The Nigerian military is committed to enhancing its strategies to end violence in Plateau State.
With increased logistical support and improved community engagement, the operation aims to protect vulnerable communities and restore lasting peace in the region.
