President Bola Tinubu on the right path to Nigeria’s prosperity, as Sen. Karimi calls on the citizens to give their support and cooperation
The Senator, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Services, Sunday Karimi has said that President Bola Tinubu is on the right path for the country’s prosperity, pointing out that the citizens owe him a duty to give their maximum support and cooperation for him to succeed on his laudable initiatives to revamp the economy.
The Egbe-born politician disclosed this recently while inspecting the moribund Lokoja fish market which he rehabilitated at the cost of eleven million naira (N11m) expressing optimism that the country will soon come out of the woods.
According to him, the resuscitation of the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries and the coming on board of the Dangote refinery in Lagos will go a long to stabilize the economy especially as its related to foreign exchange utilization, stressing that going forward the situation will continue to improve for the benefit of the general populace especially the petroleum sector that hold the economy.
He further stressed that under the current administration, the country no longer prints money to run the economy, adding that such unwholesome practices of the past put the country’s economy in jeopardy.
He said the security agencies are also working assiduously to reduce the activities of the bandits and terrorists especially in the northern part of the current, as the President is emphatic on eliminating them from the territory of Nigeria.
” With the result from the North East, the war on fighting insecurity is being realized. We in the Senate recently discovered that what we lack was synergy, but I’m happy that the President is working on that by deploying technology and communication to fight insecurity”.
Sen. Karimi expressed joy that he is able to impact on the lives of the people, pointing out that in just a year and half in the Senate, he has been able to revitalize the cold room at the Lokoja Fish market that has been moribund for 7 years.
Sen. Karimi described his representation as guided by his fear of God and the need to hold in trust the people’s mandate.
“The fear of God and holding the position in trust for the people with the motive that you must be accountable to God and the people has been my guiding principle. I want a situation where if I meet my creator, I will be able to explain what I have used the mandate for, reason why I’m doing my best in service to my people”.
” Within my one year and half of representation, we have sunk motorized boreholes numbering about 140 across the district. We recently did a hundred million naira bursary for 1000 students in tertiary institutions. We have also empowered women cooperatives with another N100m. Presently we are expecting the deployment of transformers and solar street lights to be installed in different locations across the district. We also visited Kupa following a boat mishap. I donated another N10m as support to the community. I’m glad to let you know that through my personal donation of N23m, the collapsed Bridge in Kiri is nearing completion. I believe that our work will speak for us, Sen. Karimi said.
