Prince Olatunji Olusoji Breaks Silence on Pastor Ajileye’s Warning

By Sunday Adewale

The Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Grosvenor Global Limited, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has responded to Pastor Stanley Ajileye’s cautionary statement, expressing disappointment and surprise at the pastor’s speculation about his political ambitions despite not having discussed such with anyone.

In a statement, Prince Olusoji said, “This Pastor thinks I’m like every other desperate Okun politician. Why is he speculating what he doesn’t know?”

He emphasized that he has never discussed his political future or ambition with either Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the former Governor, nor the incumbent Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, adding that he has consistently stated his goal of supporting an Okun person to become Governor.

Prince Olusoji lamented that the focus should be on why Okun hasn’t produced a Governor despite years of agitation, rather than engaging in “envious conversations”.

He attributed the lack of progress to internal divisions and a “pull him down syndrome” that have continued to dominate within the Okun stakeholders and community.

“We envy each other and we have this pull him down syndrome that’s why we have been left behind in the scheme of things politically,” he said, calling for unity and a re-evaluation of strategies.

Asiwaju Olatunji has consistently advocated for dialogue on the Governorship instead of confrontation that would create more acrimony among the major blocs in the state, which would not be good.

It is on record that, from the little time Asiwaju Olatunji has been in the political landscape of Kogi State, things have never been the same, especially his humanitarian gestures that have assisted the people of not only Kogi West but the entire state.

Hence, he should be applauded instead of being castigated, which will discourage his intentions.

Having two or three personalities like Prince Olatunji in Kogi West will go a long way in achieving what rightly belongs to the zone, especially the governorship, in a seamless way, instead of throwing tantrums around.

It is also good to note that Asiwaju Olatunji’s position is logical, promoting peace and unity instead of fighting over what can be amicably resolved in a round round, knowing fully well that no Senatorial District can claim to win the governorship seat without the support of the other districts in the state.

However, no one should see any efforts being made by anyone to achieve a collective goal as personal or individualistic; rather, all efforts being made by various people or groups should be collated for the good of the state.

No one should be seen as an enemy.
