Publisher, Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Olugbemi Femi loses Elder Brother, Y.A Bello aka Shankar
Publisher of Democracy Newsline newspaper and the Chief Press Secretary to the immediate past Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Olugbemi Femi has lost his elder brother, a workaholic and socialite Insurance guru, Mr Ajayi Bello aka Shankar who died in Abuja two days ago after a protracted illness at age 80.
Untill his death, he was the Chairman of LoyalBell Nigeria Limited and consultants to many insurance companies in Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a press statement personally signed on behalf of the family and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
He described the death of Shankar at this time as devastating for the family.
He said the loss of uncle Shankar is a colossal lost to the family, insurance sector in Nigeria and that of his community, Kabba in Kogi State, stressing that as parts of his contributions to his community, he facilitated an ICT center worth twenty five million naira in Local Government Secondary School, Otu-Egunbe in Kabba, Kabba-Bunu local government area in 2013.
He noted that the burial arrangements will be announced later, he is survive by his wife, siblings and outstanding children who are doing well across the globe.
It will be recalled that during his life time, he worked with Eagles and Company Assurance in Kaduna in the 70s and 80s as manager from there to
Crusader Insurance Company now Custodian Life Assurance, 1996 to 2006 as regional manager.
He retired from active service in 2006 after putting in decades of meritorious services in the insurance sector of Nigeria and became a Consultant to the following companies, Crusader Insurance company now Custodian Insurance Company, Cornerstone Insurance company,
First Bank Insurance Company,
Mutual Benefit Insurance Company,
Standard Assurance Company plc,
GLANVIL AND ENTHOVEN BROKAGE FIRM.
He is also a Consultant in general business and group life insurance to both underwriters company and brokerage firms.
