RE: YAGBA EAST, CHIEF AFOBAJE AHMED SLAMS FAKE ENDORSEMENT, THROWS WEIGHT BEHIND ALMARUF – A RETRACTION
Our attention has been drawn to the inaccuracies contained in the story titled “Yagba East: Chief Afobaje Ahmed Slams Fake Endorsement, Throws Weight Behind Almaruf,” published in Democracy Newsline on April 4, 2026.
I hereby formally direct the retraction of the said publication, as it was based on incorrect and misleading information.
Chief Afobaje Ahmed has since clarified that he did not issue any statement endorsing Almaruf Salimonu or any other individual.

He emphasized that he is not a politician, but a community leader, and should not be drawn into partisan affairs.
