Reverse of TCC requirements for student’s registration in tertiary institutions is a welcome development – Idris Miliki
The Executive Director Conscience for Human Rights and Conflicts Resolution, Lokoja, Idris Miliki has described the conciliation of the Tax clearance certificate as requirements for students Registration at various higher institutions in Kogi State, by the Governor Usman Ododo, as welcome development and commendable.
The Human Rights Activist disclosed this yesterday in a press statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, saying government are put in place by the people, and every government policy should reflect the genuine welfare and well-being of the people.
He called for the general review of the tax laws in Kogi State, in conjunction and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the state to have a documents that guide the sub sector.
“While citizens are expected to pay legitimate tax, the tax institution in Kogi State should be in the vanguard of enlightening strategy communication, while the government should establish industrial institutions that can generate employment and huge income to the state with out necessarily over taxing the citizens”
“We have local people that still find it difficult to to survive base on the situation and reality of the moment”
He said every major policy of government such as the one under review should be subject to the citizens engagement and their inputs as not to have wrong impression of government intensions..
