Sen. Karimi calls for understanding as Tinubu tackles inherited Socio- Economic challenges

… Inspects rehabilitated Lokoja fish market

The Senator, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi, says the nation’s economic challenges facing the country are not a creation of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, pointing out that they were problems he inherited as created by successive administrations.

Sen. Karimi explained that until the coming of the present administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the economic situation was so bad to the extent that the country had to resought to printing of the naira to run the economy.

Sen. Karimi made the disclosure while inspecting the Lokoja fish market moribund in the last seven years he rehabilitated at the cost of N11m, expressed optimism that the country will soon come out of the woods.

He added that unlike in the past, the country no longer print Naira to run the economy, lamented that in times past, many sharp economic practices led to the collapse of the country’s economy.

Sen. Karimi added that aside a collapse economy, President Tinubu also inherited the problem of insecurity that had been with the country since 1999, expressed optimism that the President is now more definite fighting insecurity.

” With the result from the North East, the war on fighting insecurity is being realized. We in the Senate recently discovered that what we lack was synergy, but I’m happy that the President is working on that by deploying technology and communication to fight against insecurity”.

Sen. Karimi expressed joy that he is able to impact on the lives of the people, pointing out that in just a year and half in the Senate, he has been able to revitalized the cold room at the Lokoja Fish market that has been moribund for 7 years.

Sen. Karimi described his representation as made possible by his fear of God and the need to hold in trust the people’s mandate.

“The fear of God and holding the position in trust for the people with the motive that you must be accountable to God and the people has been my guiding principles. I want a situation where if I meet my creator, I will will be able to explain what I have used the mandate for, reason why I’m doing my best in service to my people”.

” Within my one year and half of representation, we are doing the sinking of motorized boreholes numbering about 140 across the district. We recently did a hundred million naira bursary for 1000 students in tertiary institutions. We have also empowered women cooperatives with another N100m. Presently we are expecting the deployment of transformers and solar street lights to be installed in different locations across the district. We also visited Kupa following a boat mishap. I donated another N10m as support to the community. I’m glad to let you know that through my personal donation of N23m, the collapsed Bridge in Kiri is nearing completion. I believe that our work will speak for us, Sen. Karimi said.
