Sen. Karimi Urges Okun Youths to Shun Banditry, Support Government
Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West, has called on the youths of Okunland to refrain from collaborating with bandits and instead support the government in its efforts to bring about peace and development to the zone.
The federal lawmaker made this appeal during the 2025 edition of the Kabba Day Cultural celebration held at the Community Township Stadium yesterday
According to Karimi, it would be dangerous for the youths to collaborate with bandits who have been terrorizing the area. Instead, they should support government initiatives to overcome the menace.
“We must work together to create a safe and prosperous environment for all. I urge the youths to shun banditry and support the government in its efforts to bring peace and development to our region,” Karimi said.
Karimi expressed pride in associating himself with the Kabba community, noting that Kabba is the headquarters of the Okunland, stressing that he would continue to work with the community to accelerate development.
Regarding the 2027 governorship, Karimi said he is engaging with the people of Kogi East and is confident that they will collaborate to secure the gubernatorial seat. “We are engaging with our people in the East, and they are collaborating with us. The East is prepared to support us, and we must hijack leadership,” he stated.
Karimi urged the youths to maintain peace and avoid acts that could disrupt tranquility in the area.
