Senator Karimi Mourns Dr. Mbashir Abdulateef Lanre

The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, has expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and associates of Dr. Mbashir Abdulateef Lanre, following the news of his sudden death.
In a condolence message issued on Saturday, Senator Karimi described the late Dr. Lanre as an accomplished academic, community leader and respected personality whose contributions to education and community development would be remembered by those who knew him.
Until his death, Dr. Lanre served as the Librarian of Kogi State University, Kabba, where he contributed to the academic development of the institution and supported the pursuit of knowledge among students and members of the university community.
The deceased was also an associate of Senator Karimi and served as the Senator Sunday Karimi Bursary Coordinator for Ijumu Local Government Area.
According to the senator, Dr. Lanre handled the bursary coordination with a strong commitment to transparency, equity and fairness, ensuring that the principles guiding the programme were maintained throughout the process.
Senator Karimi said the sudden passing of the academic had created a painful void among his family, associates, colleagues and the wider community.
He extended his condolences to Dr. Lanre’s wife, children, immediate family, friends, colleagues and all those who mourn his passing, urging them to find strength and comfort in the memories of his life and contributions.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, family, friends, colleagues and all who admired and loved him,” the senator said.
He prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest, forgive his shortcomings and give the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Dr. Mbashir Abdulateef Lanre, whose death has been described as sudden and heartbreaking, is expected to be remembered for his academic service, community engagement and role in supporting the implementation of the Senator Sunday Karimi bursary programme in Ijumu Local Government Area.
“Indeed, Dr. Mbashir Abdulateef Lanre will be sorely missed,” the senator stated.
