The attention of Hon. Dantani Yalo Special Assistant to Garba Musa Maidoki, Distinguished Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, has been drawn to a publication credited to Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the Kebbi State Governor.
In the interest of fairness, truth, and democratic accountability, Hon. Dantani Yalo finds it necessary to respond.
First, Hon. Dantani Yalo categorically rejects the insinuation that his public comments on governance and security issues are driven by ulterior or partisan motives. As a constitutionally elected representative of the people, he has both the right and the obligation to speak openly on matters affecting the welfare, safety, and socio-economic well-being of his constituents.
Raising concerns—whether on security, education, or development—does not amount to antagonism, sabotage, or disloyalty to any political party or government.
Secondly, the allegation that Senator Maidoki has neglected consultative engagements or abandoned communities affected by banditry is misleading and inaccurate. His record of constituency engagement, legislative advocacy, and consistent interventions on security challenges speaks for itself and is well known to the people of Kebbi South.
Furthermore, attempts to link Senator Maidoki with alleged political alliances, media conspiracies, or campaigns of calumny are speculative and unsupported by facts. The Senator has never sponsored or encouraged the use of abusive language, misinformation, or social media attacks against any individual or institution. He firmly believes in responsible engagement, issue-based politics, and respect for constituted authority.
It is also important to state clearly that Senator Maidoki’s media engagements are part of his constitutional responsibility to communicate with Nigerians on national issues. Interpreting such engagements as insensitivity to the plight of abducted students is both unfair and unfortunate.
The Senator has consistently expressed concern over insecurity and has supported all genuine efforts aimed at rescuing victims and restoring peace.
Finally, democracy thrives on constructive criticism, tolerance of diverse opinions, and accountability—not on personal attacks or attempts to silence dissenting voices.
Senator Maidoki remains committed to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the unity of Kebbi State, and the collective goal of improving the lives of the people he was elected to serve.
He therefore urges all stakeholders to focus on facts, responsible dialogue, and the shared objective of good governance in Kebbi State and Nigeria at large.
Signed:
Hon. Dantani Yalo.
For and on behalf of
Senator Garba Musa Maidoki
Senator, Kebbi South Senatorial District
