SENATOR YARI PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO
HONOURABLE MINISTER OF STATE FOR DEFENCE, MATAWALLE.

The former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto), on Thursday paid a cordial and friendship visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON (Shattiman Sokoto), at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
The visit came ahead of the wedding ceremony of the Minister’s children, scheduled to hold on Friday, 06 February 2025.
Senator Yari, who served as Governor of Zamfara State from 2011 to 2019 and is currently a ranking member of the Nigerian Senate, described the visit as a show of brotherhood, solidarity, and long-standing mutual respect between two prominent leaders of Zamfara State.

During the visit, Senator Yari congratulated Dr. Matawalle and his family on the joyous occasion, praying for a peaceful, successful, and blessed wedding ceremony. He also commended the Honourable Minister for his continued service to the nation and his contributions to peace, security, and development, particularly in the North-West region.
Dr. Matawalle, who also previously served as Governor of Zamfara State, warmly received the Senator and expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a clear demonstration of unity, friendship, and shared commitment to the progress of Zamfara State and Nigeria at large.
The meeting, held at the Minister’s residence on Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro, was conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect and goodwill, further reinforcing the enduring political and personal ties between the two leaders.
Observers note that the visit underscores the importance of unity among political leaders in promoting stability, cooperation, and development within the state and across the country.
