FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
STOP DRAGGING GOVERNOR ODODO INTO UNNECESSARY CONTROVERSIES; ALLOW PEACE TO REIGN IN KOGI WEST – KOGI WEST CONCERN YOUTHS
The Kogi West Concern Youths have expressed concern over recent attempts by certain self-acclaimed political leaders to drag the name of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, into issues capable of creating unnecessary political tension within Kogi West Senatorial District.
We wish to state unequivocally that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is a Governor for all. He is a man of the masses whose leadership has continued to reflect fairness, inclusiveness, and a genuine commitment to the development and welfare of every citizen across Kogi West, Kogi East, Kogi Central, and the entire state. His administration does not discriminate, and it is therefore wrong for anyone to use his name to advance personal political interests.
We call on those behind these unnecessary campaigns to stop dragging the Governor into matters that should be addressed through the established constitutional and internal mechanisms of our great party. Governor Ododo remains committed to peace, unity, and justice, and should not be portrayed otherwise.
The Kogi West Concern Youths also reaffirm that Senator Sunday Steve Karimi emerged victorious in the APC senatorial primary election through a free, fair, and transparent process in line with the party’s guidelines. The outcome of the exercise reflected the decision of the majority of party members who participated in the primary.
Rather than engaging in media propaganda and making statements capable of heating the polity, we urge every aggrieved individual to embrace democratic principles and respect the outcome of the party’s processes. Personal ambition should never be placed above the collective interest of the APC and the people of Kogi West.
It is equally important to acknowledge that Senator Sunday Steve Karimi continues to enjoy overwhelming support across Kogi West Senatorial District. His acceptance among party faithful, stakeholders, youths, women, and the electorate remains evident, reflecting the confidence reposed in his leadership and representation.
We therefore appeal to all political actors and their supporters to allow peace to reign across Kogi West. The unity of our people and the stability of our party must take precedence over personal interests.
As concerned youths of Kogi West, we remain committed to promoting peace, unity, and responsible political engagement. We encourage all stakeholders to support the ongoing progress of our district and avoid actions capable of causing unnecessary division among our people.
Signed:
Kogi West Concern Youths
