Stop Politicizing the Sudden Demise of Ijumu APC Chairman, Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole: Dr. Funsho Olumoko’s Hands Are Clean – Ogidi-Omo Movement Media Team

By Our Correspondent

We have observed with dismay the reckless and insensitive attempts by some individuals to politicize the sudden and painful passing of Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole, the APC Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Area.

Even more disturbing is the deliberate attempt to drag the name of the Convener of the Ogidi-Omo Movement and Pro-Chancellor, Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Dr. Funsho Olumoko, into this tragic event.

It will interest the public to know that the reconciliation meeting was progressing without any hitch before things went wrong and the unbelievable happened: tragedy struck.

The genuine intentions of Dr. Funsho Olumoko to reconcile aggrieved members of the APC in Ijumu local government area must not be misconstrued as anything else.

His genuine love for Ijumu pushed him to call for the meeting.

For the records, we state categorically: Dr. Funsho Olumoko’s hands are clean.

The Facts: Dr. Olumoko Stood With Hon Solomon In Life

1. He Facilitated His Appointment: It was the same Dr. Funsho Olumoko who facilitated his appointment as Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Usman Ododo. He believed in Hon Solomon’s capacity, mentored him, and gave him the platform to serve.

2. He Facilitated Development for Ijumu: It was the same Dr. Olumoko who, through his influence and love for Ijumu, facilitated the extension of electricity to his community Aduge other key projects aimed at improving the lives of our people.

3. He Loved Him Till the End: Dr. Olumoko held Hon Mayowa Solomon in very high regard.

He loved him as a brother and confidant. Even at the point of death, his concern and prayers were for Solo’s wellbeing and for the progress of Ijumu.

It is therefore wicked, callous and ungodly for anyone to now turn around and cast aspersions on the man who stood by Hon. Oyewole in life.

The group said that those inciting members of the community to protest are not being sincere and are being unfair to Dr. Funsho Olumoko.

Hence, the death of Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole should call for sober reflection.

A Time for Mourning, Not Muddslinging
The death of Hon. Oyewole is a huge loss to his family, the APC in Ijumu and Kogi State, and the entire Ogidi-Omo family. This is a time for prayers, sober reflection and support for the bereaved, not a time for cheap politics and blackmail.

We urge the public, especially political actors and social media commentators, to desist from spreading falsehoods and to allow the family and the party to mourn in peace.

We pray that Almighty God grants the soul of Hon. Mayowa Solomon Oyewole eternal rest, and gives his family, friends and the APC the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Signed:
Ogidi-Omo Movement Media Team
