Suspension of Ibaji Council Chairman, Brazen use of office arbitrarily to discredit your administration – Group Tells Gov. Ododo.

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has been asked not to allow some few persons, who think they are in power, brazenly using their offices arbitrarily, to discredit his administration.

In a statement issued by Dr. MacPherson Ojodale Samson, PhD, on behalf of Concerned Ibaji Elites, described the Deputy Speakers role in using her powers to suspend the Ibaji Local Government Chairman as arbitrary use of power for selfish reasons.

The group noted that it is so sad that the State House of Assembly allowed itself to be used in executing a selfish desire that would certainly boomerang if allowed to be sustained.

” It is unfortunate that the House of Assembly is encouraging the Deputy Speaker to use her office in twarting the yearning and aspirations of Ibaji people”.

” The actions of the House of Assembly to allow itself to be used in spitting the Ibaji people is the height of reckless abuse of power politically”,

” It is unfortunate that the only office and highest one held by the people of Ibaji riverine communities has been blatantly and insultivenly taking away from us. Presently aside the office of two Special Advisers held by two people from riverine communities in Ibaji Local Government Area, the goose that lays the golden egg, leading to Kogi State named as oil producing area has been taking away from us through suspension and political vendetta”.

” This is the height of marginalization. Gov. USMAN Ahmed Ododo needs to know that this path that these people are taking him through is a dangerous path”.

” Because how would Gov. Ododo watch and encourage division in one of the two local Government Area that gave him 25% in the 2023 Governorship election that made him secure victory”.

” This marginalization to downplay people of the riverine Area of Ibaji, through sustained marginalization as allegedly perpetrated by the Deputy Speaker and the Commissioner For Agriculture and Food Security who the Governor have said are our Political leaders is uncalled for and we urge Gov. Ododo to quickly re dress the injustice before it becomes too late and out of control”.

” Instead of encouraging unity, we make bold to say that this leaders are divisive, creating animosity in their actions against the riverine communities. His Excellency in his usual magnanimity and disposition following the misinformation and mischief by the political actors can still correct the abnormalities against the riverine communities as a stitch in time will save nine. Our people are boiling over the neglect and outright marginalization”.

” Presently in Ibaji Local Government Area following the wicked marginalization metted to the people, we have been swept off of the Chairman of the Local Government, leaving us with only two Special Advisers, with no political office and relevance”.

The Concerned Group called for a speedy intervention of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo and his Deputy, the Leader of Kogi East APC, pointing out that the injustice ahead of the 2027 Election is unnecessary and uncalled for.
