The Legends Club of Okunland has expressed its appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for his decision to grade and upgrade traditional rulers in the state, particularly those from Okunland.
This move, according to the Club’s President, Engr. Femi Olubiyo, is a step in the right direction that will ensure that the monarchs are accorded the respect and honor they deserve.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, Engr. Olubiyo praised the Governor for his magnanimity and lauded his efforts to improve the lives and livelihoods of the people of Okunland. The Club pledged its support for the government’s initiatives and promised to work together with the authorities to ensure a brighter future for the Okun people.
The Legends Club of Okunland also used the opportunity to congratulate the newly graded and upgraded traditional rulers from Okunland. The Club wished them every success as they assume their new responsibilities and prayed that God would grant them the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and good health to lead their people to greater heights.
Finally, the Club made an appeal to Governor Yahaya Bello to address the deplorable state of roads in the area. The Club believes that fixing most of the roads will enable farmers to transport their produce to the market without delay, thereby improving the economic prospects of the area.
