UPU Comment on Tantita Security: Gen. John Abugor Declares Ijaw, Urhobo, Itsekiri as One — Calls for Peace, Commends Keston Pondi, and Urged President Tinubu to Empower Tantita More

By Wilson Macaulay

OGHARA

General John Abugor, from Ethiope West Local Government Area, has waded into the ongoing conversation around the operations of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), declaring that the Ijaw, Urhobo, and Itsekiri ethnic groups remain united and must not be divided by political or economic interests.

Speaking during a Press briefing organized at Oghara, Gen. Abugor called for unity among the Niger Delta ethnic nationalities, especially as it concerns the protection of oil infrastructure and the fight against economic sabotage in the region.

> “The Ijaw, Urhobo, and Itsekiri are one people with shared history, shared pain, and a shared future. We must never allow contracts or politics to divide us,” he said.

Gen. Abugor praised Tantita Security Services, describing its efforts as “a national breakthrough” in the fight against crude oil theft and environmental degradation.

He appreciated High Chief Government Ekpomupolo aka Tompolo for the good works he is doing to uplift the national economy.

> “Today, we are seeing real results. Our creeks are more secure. Oil production has risen. Our communities are breathing again. For this, we thank Tantita and especially men like Keston Pondi who are leading with integrity,” he added.

He stressed that only Tantita Security Services can do the Pipeline Security with productive results, hence the need to encourage him to do the work.

He also used the occasion to appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to increase federal support for Tantita Security, noting that their success is not only a gain for the Niger Delta but a victory for Nigeria’s economy.

> “President Tinubu should give Tantita even more responsibility and support. They have earned it with results, not noise,” he concluded.
