“We Will Not Follow Anyone Who Seeks to Harm Us” – Abba Bichi

By Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu Democracy Newsline Newspaper December 6, 2025

The member representing Bichi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abba Bichi, has declared that the people of his constituency will never align themselves with any leader whose intentions do not safeguard their collective welfare.

He made this remark when the Chairperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women’s Wing, Hajiya Fatima Dala, led a delegation of female leaders from various local governments across Kano State on a courtesy visit to his residence.

In his address, Hon. Bichi emphasized the importance of trustworthy leadership, noting that any politician who gains power only to turn against the people has no place in their political journey. He assured the visiting delegation that Bichi Constituency remains committed to supporting leaders who prioritize development, inclusivity, and the protection of citizens’ interests.

The visit by the APC women leaders was marked by discussions on strengthening political participation among women, mobilizing grassroots support, and promoting unity within the party. Hajiya Fatima Dala commended Hon. Bichi for his consistent support of women and youth, describing him as a leader who understands the value of empowerment.

As the meeting drew to a close, Hon. Bichi announced a personal gesture of support: a donation of one million naira to each woman leader in attendance. He further promised to provide them with a monthly stipend, following the model previously introduced by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as a way of encouraging their continued dedication to party activities and community development.

The event ended with prayers and expressions of gratitude from the women leaders, who described the gesture as a reaffirmation of Hon. Bichi’s commitment to uplifting women and strengthening the party’s structure at the grassroots level.
