This , according to Nyesom Nzenwo Nyesom, the Minister of the federal capital territory , FCT noticed it was an abnormally and unacceptable to exposing judges of all categories who presides over various cases to be exposed to such obvious dangers and operational hazards of their accomodation.

Even though, Nigerians or the government may not see the other side of the situation, but it is operationally dangerous to allow higher judges and other level judges who presides over numerous cases of arson , murder, fraud, elections and other civil matters and many others exposed to such kind of huge and plane operational hazards.

Worried by this ugly development prevalent for over five decades, the Minister’s determination to right the existing wrongs that has become a norm ,routine and without further delay, by proposing for approval to government the provision of a befitting accomodations and residents for all judges of different categories working with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The over 12 billion naira project approved by the federal executive council, FEC has already witnessed commencement work on the site , so as to meeting the contractual, commissioning and occupation by judges and timeline , with the strongest believe of the current FCT administration of timely job completion.

‎According to him, Maitama II will cover over 786 hectares of land, much of which had already been allocated without accompanying infrastructure.

“Wike who said the approval covered the design and construction of residences for the President of the Court of Appeal, the President of the Industrial Court, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, and the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court to ensure maximum safety from all forms of exposure.”

“The Minister who was visibly angry on the plight of these categories of Judges particularly on their operational exposure promised to write many decades wrongs with him at the mantle of leadership in the FCT.”

“This gradual decision according to the Minister Nzenwo Nyesom Wike will trickle down to other categories and possibly higher level judicial officers that will reduce to the barest the problems boardering on their exposures, and accomodation.”

“With the approval and the Minister’s wisdom of proposing a befitting construction of the higher judges accomodation, no doubt, the current situation were by judges are exposed to all forms of needless and avoidable dangers will be reduced. Wike stated”.

“For Wike, the FCT Minister,. Taking such popular and laudable decisions that concerns the welfare of Nigerians has become the signature of his administration in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT ranging from provision of essential and social services as well as well infrastructural development.”

“Minister Nyesom Wike has not announced new judges’ housing plans today; the recent news from late October 2025 states that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court judges will own their permanent residences before the end of President Bola Tinubu’s first term.”

” Construction of 40 new judges’ quarters for the FCT High Court, the Federal High Court, and the Court of Appeal began in November 2024 and is expected to be completed within 12 months. The project is intended to enhance judicial independence by providing a secure and befitting environment for judges, and the houses will be theirs to own upon retirement. ”

All hands must be on deck to support the laudable and popular decisions been adopted by the Minister, Nzenwo Nyesom Wike in his bid to turn all round developments in the nation’s city.
