Zamfara First Lady, Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Emerges Winner as Most Outstanding in Women Empowerment Programs

The wife of Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal, has been recognized as the most outstanding First Lady in Women Empowerment Programs in Nigeria’s Northwest zone for 2025.
This was announced at a press briefing in Abuja by Elder Olalekan Aiyenigba, Executive Editor of Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
According to Elder Aiyenigba, Hajiya Hurriya Dauda Lawal’s outstanding contributions to women empowerment programs earned her the prestigious recognition.
Specifically, she prioritized maternal health by providing Mamakits for pregnant women, which include medical supplies for safe delivery, thereby reducing maternal mortality rates in the state.
Additionally, she implemented a social protection cash transfer program that benefited over 1,800 women.
He said the award ceremony is scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, pointing out that the event will feature a keynote speaker, award presentations, and a red carpet ceremony with the theme “Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria”.
According to him, the event will commence with a Red Carpet ceremony at 5 pm, followed by the main program at 6 pm, and a dinner.
Elder Aiyenigba said the occasion will also be used to launch a N100 million fund dedicated to procuring podcast studio equipment and establishing Democracy Newsline Newspaper Online Television station.
