2027: PDP BEGINS SALES OF FORMS AS THOUSANDS DEFECT IN KOGI
The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms ahead of the 2027 National and State Assembly elections.
Aspirants seeking to represent their constituencies were seen at the party secretariat picking up forms for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats.
Speaking on the development, the State Chairman, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, said the rush by aspirants to obtain the party’s forms reflects the repositioning and renewed strength of the PDP in the state.
He expressed satisfaction that the party is set to field candidates across all senatorial, federal, and state constituencies in the 2027 general election.
Hon. Muhammed described the PDP as “the new bride for Kogi people,” noting the steady influx of new members from other political parties who have returned or defected to the party in recent weeks.
“At the last count, we have harvested 22,000 members from opposition parties in Kogi Central and Kogi East alone. The outcome has been impressive,” he said.
The chairman added that the PDP is now positioning itself to reclaim the seat of government in 2027, stressing that the party has bounced back from its slumber and has become the political destination for several key political figures and citizens across the state.
