A Father Has Gone Home: Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa Mourns Alhaji Mohammed Alfa

Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa, Ph.D., has lost his beloved father, Alhaji Mohammed Alfa.
The announcement of his passing has brought deep sorrow to the Alfa family, relatives, friends and all those who knew and shared moments with the late patriarch.

For Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa, this is not simply the loss of a parent. It is the loss of a father whose presence represented a source of guidance, strength, counsel and family history.
There are some losses for which words are never enough. The death of a father is one of them.
A father occupies a unique place in the life of every child. His voice, his advice, his sacrifices and even the quiet things he does for his family often become clearer with time. When that presence is suddenly gone, the silence it leaves behind can be difficult to explain.
Today, Dr. Mahmoud and the entire Alfa family are confronted with that reality.
Yet, in grief, the family remains firmly anchored in faith. Islam teaches us that every soul will return to its Creator, and that our duty in moments such as this is to submit to the will of Allah, pray for the deceased and seek strength from Him.
“Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”
— Qur’an 2:156
The Alfa family therefore accepts this painful loss as the will of Allah, even as they mourn the departure of a man who was deeply loved and respected.
Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa and his family extend their appreciation to relatives, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers who have reached out with messages of sympathy and prayers.
At this moment of grief, the family does not ask for much beyond prayers.
They ask that Alhaji Mohammed Alfa be remembered in prayer; that Allah forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds, grant him mercy and make his final home better than the home he has left behind.
They also pray that Allah gives the entire family the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.
May Allah forgive Alhaji Mohammed Alfa, have mercy upon him, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give his family the strength to live with his memory and continue the values he left behind.
