A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Board Member of the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Hon. Adewale Adeogun, has said that Nigerians, irrespective of religious or political affiliations, should be urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek re-election if they fully understood the achievements of his administration over the past three years.
According to Adeogun, President Tinubu inherited an economy that was in a critical condition. However, through economic reforms, political courage, and a willingness to make difficult but necessary decisions, the President has succeeded in stabilizing the nation and preventing an impending economic collapse.
He stated that President Tinubu’s emergence as Nigeria’s leader in 2023 saved the country from what he described as an “unimaginable catastrophe,” adding that the administration’s policies have laid the foundation for long-term economic growth and national development.
Hon. Adeogun, who also serves as Deputy Director-General of the APC Support Groups, made these remarks during the official launch of the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope initiative. The event, themed “Together, We Are Driving Renewed Hope,” was held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Dr. Mariam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, located in the Central Business District, Area 10, Garki, Abuja.
The programme attracted participants from all 36 states of the federation.
Adeogun commended the Business Women of Influence for identifying with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration. He noted that the current government has prioritized policies aimed at advancing the welfare of Nigerian women, while also promoting empowerment, inclusion, and economic opportunities for women across the country.
He further called on opposition parties and political actors to promote peace and national unity rather than engage in actions capable of overheating the polity. He urged critics of the administration to avoid what he described as campaigns of calumny and instead support efforts geared toward national development.
According to him, constructive engagement and responsible opposition are essential for sustaining democracy and ensuring continued progress in Nigeria.
