,As 2027 Draws Close: Vevakpor Calls for Ughievwen Unity Among Political Class

By Wilson Macaulay

Olorogun Francis Vevakpor, Founder and National Leader of the Uhurie Political Parliament (UPP), has made a clarion call for unity among the political class in Ughievwen Kingdom ahead of the 2027 political dispensation.

He made the call during the inauguration of the executive committee of the organisation, held at his residence in Ekakpamre on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The Founder and National Leader of the Uhurie Political Parliament thanked God and the various stakeholders who responded to the call for the effective commencement of the UPP, which he described as a patriotic initiative aimed at giving the people of Uhurie a common political voice.

Vevakpor explained that the UPP was conceived to support and protect the political interests of Uhurie sons and daughters, irrespective of their political or party affiliations.

He therefore appealed to all sons and daughters of Ughievwen Kingdom to put their political differences aside and work together in the interest of the people.

He urged Ughievwen sons and daughters, as well as members of the UPP, to remain united, stressing that the organisation’s objective was to build a common political front around issues affecting the people of Uhurie in particular and Ughievwen Kingdom in general.

Vevakpor also called on the people to support the aspiration of Olorogun Samson Gordons Okomitie, presenting it as part of the group’s broader effort to promote what it considers the political interests and advancement of Ughievwen Kingdom.

Administering the oath of office to the new executive members, Chief Oviri Uto charged them to remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them.
Uto urged the new officers not to abandon their assignment after accepting the mandate, using the biblical imagery of putting one’s hand to the plough and refusing to look back.
He also expressed his willingness to make his experience available to the organisation as it pursues its stated objectives.

The gathering at Ekakpamre therefore ended not merely as an inauguration ceremony, but as a renewed political declaration that the Uhurie Political Parliament intends to make the 2027 House of Assembly contest a major test of its organisational strength and its capacity to mobilise the people behind its preferred candidate, Olorogun Samson Gordons Okomitie, JP.
