Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji Hails Atta Igala’s Honour, Urges Kogites to Back Ododo’s Second Term
The Chairman, Grosvenor Group and founder, Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF), Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji has expressed deep appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Matthew Opaluwa, the Atta Igala, for conferring on him the prestigious chieftaincy title of Ene-Umola Atta-Igala — meaning “Close Associate to the Atta Igala Kingdom”.
Speaking after the coronation ceremony at the Attah’s Palace in Idah, Asiwaju Olatunji described the honour as “humbling and a call to greater service to Igala land and Kogi State at large.”
“I am grateful to His Royal Majesty, the Atta Igala, for finding me worthy of this ancient and revered title. Ene-Umola is not just a title, it is a responsibility. I accept it with all sense of humility and pledge to use it to promote unity, peace, and development across Igala land,” he said.
The philanthropist and community leader used the occasion to call on all Kogites, irrespective of tribe, religion, or political affiliation, to unite behind the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
“As we approach the next electoral cycle, I urge every Kogite to rally round Governor Ododo for a second term. His commitment to infrastructure, security, and youth empowerment deserves continuity. United we stand, divided we fall. Kogi’s progress must come first above personal or sectional interests,” Asiwaju Olatunji stated.
The conferment of the Ene-Umola title was witnessed by traditional rulers, political leaders, and indigenes from across the nine Igala-speaking LGAs. Dignitaries praised Asiwaju Olatunji for his consistent support for education, healthcare, and empowerment programmes in the state.
HRM Matthew Opaluwa, in his remarks, noted that the title was given in recognition of Asiwaju Olatunji’s contributions to peace-building and community development. “A title like Ene-Umola is reserved for those who defend the honour and progress of our people. We believe you will live up to it,” the Atta Igala said.
The event ended with prayers for peace and prosperity in Kogi State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
