Award: Youth Group Honors Kogi Varsity VC, Professor Eniola Kehinde

A socio-cultural group, Okun Youth Frontiers, a coalition of youth organizations, presented an award of excellence to the Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Professor K.I.T. Eniola. The award, the group noted, is in recognition of the outstanding leadership and contributions of the Vice Chancellor to the growth of the institution.

Presenting the award, leader of the group Barr. Emmanuel Ayedogbon, commended the Vice Chancellor for his tireless efforts in advancing the university’s growth and development. He noted that the school which has a vibrant public relations unit has been able to project the accomplishments of the Vice Chancellor and his team to the outside world in a manner that justifies the goal of seeking to be the best by beating the best.

Receiving the award, Professor Eniola expressed gratitude to the group for the recognition and appreciation. The VC noted that the government of Kogi State has been the backbone of the university. He noted that the immediate past governor of the state showed himself as a visionary by establishing the university, adding that the current government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has demonstrated a high-level commitment to the growth and development of the school.

The pioneer Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the university management, and staff stating that the achievements would not have been possible without their collective support.

He restated his commitment to raising the next generation of students who will be globally competitive, nationally recognized, and locally relevant.

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the university, Dr J.U. Amodu noted that the award was well deserved given the success the university has recorded under the Vice Chancellor. He commended the group for their interest in the running of the institution.

Similarly, the Head of Department, Political Science Dr. Nasiru Muhammed Ibrahim congratulated the Vice Chancellor. He also noted that the group did well to beam their searchlight on academic institutions in their region.
