Breaking: NCAA Bans Wasiu Ayinde from Flying for Six Months Over Airport Security Breach
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month flying ban on popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM1 or K1 De Ultimate.
This decision follows an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where Ayinde allegedly breached airport security protocols and disrupted flight operations.
On August 5, 2025, Ayinde attempted to board ValueJet Flight VK 201 from Abuja to Lagos with a flask containing an unidentified liquid, suspected to be alcohol, which is prohibited onboard aircraft in Nigeria.
Despite repeated warnings from Aviation Security personnel and the flight captain, Ayinde refused to comply, leading to a confrontation.
He allegedly spilled the liquid on a security officer and obstructed the aircraft’s departure by standing in front of it.
The NCAA has blacklisted Ayinde, effective immediately, meaning he won’t be allowed to fly within Nigerian airports for the next six months.
Additionally, two ValueJet pilots were suspended for breaching pre-departure safety protocols.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, Ayinde denied the allegations of unruly conduct and claimed the substance in his flask was plain drinking water, given to him at the airport lounge.
He also stated that he was the victim in the incident and has cooperated fully with the authorities.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is conducting a full investigation into the incident, and anyone found culpable will face disciplinary measures.
The NCAA’s decision to ban Ayinde from flying aims to uphold aviation safety standards and prevent similar incidents in the future.
