CELEBRATING GOV. ODODO’S RECORD-BREAKING ACHIEVEMENT IN KOGI LG POLLS, EMPOWERING WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

The Avoyi Team 4 Ododo Progressive Forum, a political group in Kogi State, has commended Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration for its outstanding performance in the recent local government polls.

A historic election that saw all 21 chairpersons elected, including the first female chairpersons in Kogi State’s history.

Avoyi Nwogu, the convener and Senior Special Assistant on Print Media to the Governor, praised the elected councillors across the 239 wards, stressing the significant female representation in the scheme of things.

She noted that the present administration under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has done well, learning the intrigues of governance from the state leader, the immediate past governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and surpassed the achievements of previous governments before them.

“Governor Ododo has consistently continued to push boundaries, boosting the economy development of the state through road construction in rural and the urban regions of the state, benefiting farmers and traders, which is truly commendable.”

Also, in a statement released earlier by Halimat Isah, the group’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Avoyi Nwogu urged citizens across parties to join Governor Ododo in building a unified Kogi State, adding that vision includes creating an investor-friendly environment, fostering unity, and generating employment opportunities for all Kogites that should not be left to goverment alone.

“Governor Ododo is a man of his word, delivering on his promises as outlined in his inauguration speech on 27 January 2024. His courage and swift action are admirable, indicating an even more successful second tenure, God willing,” she added.

Hon. Avoyi pointed out the impressive female representation in the local government polls, with 19 female vice-chairpersons and one elected female chairperson, adding that women also make up a significant proportion of the councilorship positions.

“I congratulate everyone of them as they are sworn in today. Now that God has entrusted women with directing state and local government affairs, may we witness more growth and development,” she concluded.
