Chief David Oni Sunday Bags Community Development Service and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Eagles Engineering Earth Services Ltd, Chief David Oni Sunday, has been honoured with two prestigious awards by Democracy Newsline Newspaper for his contributions to community development and youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
Chief Oni Sunday was conferred with the “Community Development Service Award” and the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2026” at the newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame which held on Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja at 5:00pm.

The event, held to mark 27 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria, had the theme: “Economic Reform, Democracy and Sustainable Development: The Nigerian Example.”
Presenting the awards, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, described Chief Oni Sunday as a shining example of a young Nigerian combining business excellence with grassroots impact.
“Through Eagles Engineering Earth Services Ltd, Chief David Oni Sunday has demonstrated capacity, integrity and commitment to service delivery. Beyond executing engineering and earthworks projects, he has also invested in community empowerment, job creation and youth mentorship across several communities,” Chief Femi said.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Oni Sunday dedicated the awards to his team, clients and the communities that have supported Eagles Engineering Earth Services Ltd over the years.
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition. This award will spur us to do more in delivering quality engineering services and in giving back to our communities. As young entrepreneurs, we have a responsibility to build businesses that create jobs and develop our nation,” he said.
The event also featured a public lecture delivered by leading policy experts and the induction of distinguished Nigerians into the _Good Governance Hall of Fame_ for their contributions to democracy, leadership and national development.
Dignitaries, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and community leaders were in attendance to witness the ceremony.
